Dependability is a cornerstone of our team. We use UKG workforce management tools and clear scheduling policies to ensure every shift is covered.
We foster a respectful, collaborative, and professional work environment. Our etiquette guidelines support positive relationships with guests and teammates alike.
Clear, documented procedures guide every operational role — from setup to service to closing. Our SOPs ensure consistency and accountability.
The health and safety of our guests and team is our top priority. We follow strict food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene protocols in every service.
Growth & Development
We invest in the professional growth of every team member. Through hands-on training and mentorship, our department empowers employees to build skills that last a lifetime.

MODULE 1
Presenting with Ho’okipa
Objective
Understand how the professional image shows respect for guests, culture, and the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center) experience.
Uniform Standards
Completeness & Integrity
Wearing the standard uniform with proper language badge, PCC ID, and correct footwear. No accessories are allowed except for the pearl stud earrings and pearl necklace for wahine, and shell necklace for kane.
Uniform Care
Keeping uniforms clean, neatly pressed, and free of stains, tears, or excessive fading. No alterations are allowed.
Role & Venue Identity
Adhering strictly to the specific uniform designated in the specific role assigned to each worker.
Personal Grooming and Hygiene
The "Clean-Cut" Professional Image
Keeping hair neat and uniform: wahine should have slicked back with no visible baby hairs and a mid-level tight bun while kane should have clean hair cut with no bangs and utilize using hair gel to keep the hair secured.
Daily Freshness
Maintaining high standards of daily personal hygiene, including showering and using unscented or mild deodorant, to ensure comfort in close-proximity guest interactions.
Subtlety in Adornment
Ensuring makeup, fragrances, and jewelry complement—rather than distract from—the uniform and the cultural atmosphere.
